Collinsvale Sewerage Scheme Opened

A gathering of Federal, State and Local Government politicians joined with Glenorchy Council staff and local Collinsvale residents to mark the opening of the Collinsvale Sewerage Scheme on 3rd August 2005.

The scheme, funded through the Federal clean rivers and oceans program and built by the Glenorchy City Council enables the about 45 residential properties on the eastern side of Sorell Creek to haver their sewerage and waste water treated at teh plant and the clean water produced is stored in a shining pond near Voss Cottage. From there it is available to local farmers for irrigation

Gwen Pridmore, seen here with Mr Terry Martin MLC, Mayor of Glenorchy and Alderman Adriana Taylor, took the opportunity to present Senator Eric Abetz with a copy of one of her books on the history of Collinsvale
